KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools
KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools is part of the KIPP national network. Together with families and communities, we create joyful, academically excellent schools that prepare students with the skills and confidence to pursue the paths they choose college, career, and beyond so they can lead fulfilling lives and build a more just world.
In the 2025-2026 school year, the KIPP Jacksonville region will be comprised of four schools educating more than 3,000 students, kindergarten through twelfth grade in the North and West sides of Jacksonville, Florida.
KIPP Impact Academy : Kindergarten - 8th grade
KIPP VOICE Academy : Kindergarten - 8th grade
KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade
KIPP Bold City High School : 9th - 12th grade
In the current school year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work the following hours Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours. Hours for teachers and students may vary slightly by school.
K-8 Staff: 7:30am - 4:30pm, K-8 Students: 8:00am - 3:30pm, Wednesday K-8 student dismissal is at 1:30pm
High School Staff: 6:45am - 3:45pm, High School Students: 7:15am - 2:30pm, Wednesday High School student dismissal is at 12:30pm.
Every Wednesday is a student early release day, which allows teachers to participate in weekly professional development and content team meetings. *This doesnt include Wellness Wednesdays when all staff leave at student dismissal.

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks to add capacity to our electives department team with a performing arts instructor. This teacher would instruct classes of 9th - 12th graders. This position will work closely with the electives department which currently offers band, physical education/health, and visual arts.
A Performing Art Instructor should:
- Teach various aspects of performing arts such as acting, dance, music/choir, band, and theater production, while fostering creativity and self-expression
- Develop and implement a curriculum aligned with Florida state standards
- Provide constructive feedback to students on their performances and progress, and assist them in setting and achieving artistic goals
- Organize and direct rehearsals, performances, and productions, both within the school and in the community
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and community stakeholders to support student learning and enrichment opportunities

COMPENSATION*
- The starting annual salary for this position is $50,000

*The salary offered in the DocuSign doesnt include any stipends for which the candidate may be eligible. In our current year of paying out millage stipends, certified New-to-KIPP instructional staff received a historical average of $13,000 with the addition of receiving TSIA stipends. There are other opportunities to earn money at KIPP Jax in the form of additional stipends. This role will only be eligible for instructional stipends if they have their FLDOE certification.

Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree
- Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Eligibility for Certification
- Drama 6-12
- Dance K-12
- Music K-12
- At least one complete year of teaching experience with a proven track record of high achievement in the classroom

HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- ESOL Endorsement
- Two or more years of secondary teaching experience with a proven track record of high achievement in the classroom
- Experience with teaching honors level or AP level courses in a high school
