Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons in science and math that promote critical thinking and real-world problem-solving.
- Use creative and interactive teaching methods to inspire students, foster a passion for the subject, and encourage intellectual inquiry, helping them engage with new ideas and perspectives.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to student success and well-being, creating a welcoming and supportive classroom environment.
- Provide individualized support and guidance to students, both in and outside the classroom, to promote academic and personal growth.
- Serve as an advisor to students, mentor clubs, and contribute to extracurricular activities and school programs.
- Participate in school events, chaperone trips, serve on committees, and collaborate with colleagues to enhance the student experience.
- Maintain clear, proactive communication with parents about student progress and address any concerns in a timely manner.
- Develop and assess student progress using a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
- Cultivate a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and success.
- Actively participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with new teaching strategies, science, and developments in education.
Qualifications:
- A bachelors degree in physics or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
- At least two years of teaching experience at the middle school to college level.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to design and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards, assess student progress using various instructional strategies, and implement differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Experience with effective classroom management strategies to create and maintain an inclusive, welcoming, organized classroom environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Proficiency in using technology for teaching, grading, and communicating, including digital learning platforms and tools
Compensation:
- The full-time equivalent salary range for this position is $78,000 - $90,000. The starting salary is based upon, but not limited to, several factors that include type and years of experience, education level, and expertise.
